Thanks for joining us at the 9th International Meshing Roundtable held in historic, New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 2-5, 2000. Now in its ninth consecutive year, the International Meshing Roundtable has become recognized as an international focal point for research and development in the field of mesh and grid generation. The goal of the International Meshing Roundtable continues to focus on bringing together researchers and developers from academia, national labs and industry in a stimulating, open environment for the exchange of technical information related to mesh generation and general pre-processing techniques. Previous Roundtables include Chicago, Illinois (1992), Albuquerque, New Mexico (1993-1995), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (1996), Park City, Utah (1997), Dearborn, Michigan (1998) and South Lake Tahoe, California (1999). New Orleans, Louisiana, known for its historic French Quarter, live jazz and Cajun cuisine, is the site for this year's Meshing Roundtable. At each of these venues, participants from a wide variety of countries have enjoyed an open and technically rich environment with which to share new ideas and technical advances.
