Paper submissions will be accepted
PDF format only. All fonts need to be embedded. See instructions below.
Paper Format Requirements:
Papers should have original and
significant contribution in order to be accepted. Each accepted paper will
be given a 25 minute presentation slot at the meeting.
Accepted papers by authors who register to attend the conference will be published
in the proceedings and will also be available on CD and on the IMR website.
The proceedings are printed in black and white.
Papers should be limited to 18 pages
in length and received by June 6, 2008. Only PDF files will be accepted
for paper submission. Final camera-ready papers
not meeting formatting guidelines will not be accepted for publication in the
proceedings. Camera-ready and source documents are due by July 27, 2008.
Authors submitting papers will be
notified of a decision on acceptance no later than July 17, 2008. Authors
of accepted papers may submit updated papers
through this webiste.
Questions regarding paper submission can be directed to any committee member.
Research Notes Format Requirements:
The 17th International Meshing Roundtable also solicits Research Notes which are short articles describing exploratory research, preliminary results and techniques deemed to be relevant to the field of meshing. The guidelines for submitting a research note are as follows:
- The list of topics for research notes is the same as for the full paper.
- Research notes must be formatted using the same templates as the full paper.
- Research notes must be limited to 2000 words or 5 pages, whichever is shorter including figures, tables, references and appendices. Articles not meeting the formatting guidelines or page/word limit will be rejected.
- The submission date for research notes will be later than the full paper submission date.
- Research notes will be reviewed by the committee and will be accepted or rejected without possibility of resubmission that year
- Research notes will NOT be published in the printed proceedings of the International Meshing Roundtable. They will be included in the electronic version of the proceedings distributed on CD.
- A special session will be dedicated to presentations of research notes. Presenters will have 15 mins for presentation + 5 minutes for questions.
- Authors may not submit a full paper and a research note on the same topic in the same year.
- Research notes from a previous year are eligible to be submitted as a full paper the following year.

Untar it where you like on your system: tar -xvf author-TeX.tar
At this point, there are 2 possibilites:
either read the detailed PDF documentation included, or
use the author-pdf.tex sample file as a template
compile the document with pdflatex
Note: figures should be made (or exported) into PDF format. Utilities such
as gimp, epstopdf, etc., shall be used to convert figures that are not initially
in PDF format.

PDF Conversion Instructions:
Converting to PDF and Embedding Fonts:
Once the paper is prepared please convert the paper to PDF format. All papers
must be submitted in electronic form via the web. Only PDF files will be accepted.
Embed all fonts in the final PDF file.
If using Adobe: Distiller:
From the Distiller menu, click the "Properties" button
Choose the "Adobe PDF Settings" tab
Conversion settings select "Press"
Click button "Edit Conversion Settings"
Choose the Font tab
Select "Embed all Fonts"
If converting to PDF using Microsoft Word 2000:
From File menu, choose "print"
Change Destination from "Printer" to "File" (located top
right of General dialog box)
From General, go to "Save as File"
Change "Format" to "Acrobat PDF"
Select "Embed All Fonts"
Make "Downsample" settings is set for at least 72 dpi
Click "SAVE"
If you have a newer version of Microsoft Word you will need to have the
full version of Adobe Acrobat or some other conversion software to
convert your
Word document to PDF.
